Care and Upkeep of Your Mattress
Finding a comfortable mattress that provides a much-needed night of rest is of great importance in a society that is already filled with sleep-depraved people. Therefore, it is even more important to maintain the perfect mattress, once found, in order to have years of restful sleep ahead.
Regular maintenance of your mattress
To ensure the fibers in the mattress stay clean and strong, it should be vacuumed and aired out on a regular basis. It should never be folded or jumped on and it should be protected by a mattress pad. In addition to preventing wear and tear, the mattress pad will provide an extra layer of support and comfort.
To further ensure the longevity of a mattress, it should never be wetted. This can cause mildew to form on the mattress. For cleaning purposes, a commercial spray or mild soap and water can be sponged onto the mattress. It must then be placed outside to air dry and should not be returned indoors until completely dry.
Sprinkling a thin layer of baking soda on the mattress is helpful for eliminating hours. After letting the baking soda sit on the mattress for a few hours, simply vacuum it off.
