Tips on Choosing the Right Mattress for
You Once you have decided that you need a new mattress, and have a general idea on the firmness level you will need, you should research exactly what mattresses are available to you. Many manufactures are more than willing to send informative information right to your home. The brochures usually list important information about the mattresses they offer, including but not limited to firmness levels, how many coils the mattress has inside, the type of material the mattress is made with, whether or not it's stain resistant, and the cost of the different mattresses. The brochures often contain information to help you to contact the manufacture with any questions you may have, and they are also helpful in assisting you in locating a retailer in your area. After doing these things, you should be getting a basic idea of what sort of new mattress you are going to shop for. Go out to different retailers, and test out their mattresses. (Be sure to wear slip off shoes, and never put your shoes on a mattress you do not intend to buy.) I recommend lying on each mattress type, for at least a few minutes in each position, checking for comfort level and support. You will want to lie in all positions on several mattresses, to ensure comfort and satisfaction in selecting your new mattress. Do not ever be afraid to ask questions when purchasing a new mattress. As a matter of fact, you should ask a lot of questions. Is the material that the mattress is made with stain resistant? How many coils are inside of the new mattress and what are their thickness? What if you purchase the new mattress, then you are dissatisfied within a few days? What if its been a week? What if you discover a defect or tear after the new mattress is delivered to your home? The list of possible questions is never-ending. I recommend brainstorming before you go mattress shopping, and maybe even write the questions down that come to your mind. It is better to be safe than sorry, and you would not want to forget to ask something important. You should spend the most money you can afford to spend on your new mattress purchase. You want a quality made mattress that will not only support your spine properly, but will also last you for many years. The price of a new mattress is determined by the quality of the materials used, size, and the quality of its construction. The more you can spend on your new mattress, the better quality mattress you will have in most cases, and the longer it will end up lasting you in the long run. Finally, when purchasing an innerspring mattress, you should always purchase the box spring, as well. They were made to work best together, and are commonly replaced at the same time. If you put your new mattress on your old box spring, your spine may not be getting all the support it needs, and you could still lose restful sleep. Studies show that we, as human beings, spend an average of one-third of our time in bed sleeping. If you are having a hard time sleeping at night, due to discomfort or back pain, it might be time to buy a new mattress. But before you purchase a new mattress, it is important for you to do your homework, and purchase the mattress that will best keep your spine comfortable and in the proper position. |
